Donald Leroy Hummel, 96, of Bellevue passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, in Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born Dec. 3, 1913, in Bellevue, the son of the late Sepharis Pickard and Nora Jane (Nearhood) Hummel. Don was a farmer and a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Bellevue. He enjoyed hunting, watching football, basketball and baseball. He loved the many dogs he had as pets throughout his life.
Survivors include his daughters, Roseann (Renny) Freet of California, Nancy (Steve) Keller of Oak Harbor, Linda (Gary) Reed of Canton and Beverly (David) Androvich of Shanghai, China; five grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and his twin sister, Dorothy Zieber of Florida.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Iola Ruth (Link) hummel, whom he married Feb. 15, 1948, in Bellevue; his great-grandson, Kole J. Keller; sister, Helen Richardson; and infant brother, Gordon Hummel, preceded him in death.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. Monday until services at 6 p.m. in Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Private burial will take place in York Chapel Cemetery.
