Heidi L. Hatfield, age 30, of Vickery, died unexpectedly, Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
She was born Jan. 6, 1984, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 2002. Heidi was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sandusky, and she worked with her brothers doing construction and landscaping. She was an avid reader and enjoyed riding motocycles, spending time outdoors with her friends and family, and most of all, being with her son, Wes, whom she loved very much.
She is survived by her son, Wes Collins; parents, JR and Sue (Sokolowski) Hatfield; three sisters, Angela Weber, Michelle (James) Meadows, and Laura Gonzales; three brothers, Glenn, Terry, and Jerry Hatfield; 13 nieces and nephews, Mathew, Melissa, Michaela, Destiny, Brittany, Christian, Jessie, Ashley, Justin, Amber, Michael, Harley, and Pamela; and many aunts and uncles.
Heidi was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Minnie and Edward Sokolowski; paternal grandparents, Lillie and Lee Hatfield; and brother, William "Billy" Hatfield.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 1605 W. Jefferson St., Sandusky. Father Joseph Stienbauer will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
