Robert B. Baker, 80, of Sandusky, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at his residence.
He was born May 3, 1933, in Springfield, Ky. Robert was employed by Didion Brothers and Vulcan Materials.
At an early age he was a member of Johnson Chapel AME Zion Church in Springfield.
He is survived by his daughters, Anita L. (Mike Culbertson) Brown and Markeeshia Baker, both of Sandusky; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Nell Clark, of Louisville, Ky.; brothers, Rudolph V. Baker Sr., and Charles S. Baker, both of Sandusky, Dillard B. Baker Sr., of Louisville, and Jack L. Baker, of Toledo; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward and Mary Katherine (Brown) Baker; sisters, Rooney L. Breland and Mae Antoinette Tonge; and brothers, John E. Baker Jr., Allen Baker, and James “Fred” Baker.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, until funeral services at 1 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Josiah Brown will officiate, and Pastor Robert Bernard Baker will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
