Harold C. DeHenning

Harold C. DeHenning passed away Jan. 23, 2014, in Fort Myers, Fla.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth (Fortuna); and his three children, Jeanie (Larry) Feagan of Columbia Station, Ohio, Karen Dennehy of Sandusky, and Steve DeHenning of Toledo. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Collin Dennehy, Shelly DeHenning, Michael DeHenning, Melissa (Chris) Wilson and four great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother, Jim (Joyce) DeHenning; four sisters, Betty Rice, Audrey (Wayne) Lippert, Pat (John) Wilson and Chris (Mark) Nelson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Kennelly; father, Harold DeHenning; and one sister, Beverly Perrine.

Harold retired from New Departure as a machine repairman in 1999.

He was an avid sports fan, especially of his beloved Buckeyes, and loved golfing. He was a high school football official for 25 years. He treasured his time with his family and at his beach house in Fort Myers Beach.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sandusky Elks No. 285 Youth Activities, 120 E. Adams St., Sandusky; or the Fort Myers Beach EMS, Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, FL.

A memorial service will take place in June at the Sandusky Elks.
