Robert J. Myers, 81, of Norwalk, died Jan. 28, 2014, while vacationing in Port Charlotte, Fla.
He was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Norwalk, to the late Elmer and Ruth (Krespach) Myers, and was a lifelong area resident. Bob was a 1950 graduate of St. Paul High School and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and served in Germany. Bob retired from Anitec Image Corporation in 1995 and was a former employee of GAF. Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Ronald Myers of North Fairfield, Ohio, Julie (Dustin) Badovick of Norwalk, and Steve (Tracey) Myers of Norwalk; grandchildren, Rob Myers, Kelsie Myers, and Chad Myers; step grandchildren, Molly, Emma, and Audrey Badovick; and great-granddaughter, Evelynn Myers.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mardell J. (Krupp) Myers in 2011; son, Alan Myers in 1984; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Jo Ann Myers; and by his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Jack Comyns.
There will be no calling hours. Prayer services will be 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul Catholic Church Social Hall, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
