Jennie C. Sani, 97, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 17, 2014, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
Jennie was born March 14, 1916, in West Virginia, daughter of the late Concezio and Rosa (Colasanti) Gugliemi.
She was a cake decorator for many years and volunteered at the Erie County Senior Center. Jennie was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, the IAB Club, and the Red Hat Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to music, playing the accordion, Bingo, and ballroom dancing and was an avid dog lover, especially Penny, her Pomeranian.
Jennie is survived by her nieces, Janet (Henry) Riggs, Pat Churchill and Marie (King) Baer, all of Sandusky, Kathy (Bruce) Dahm, of Texas, Carol (Doug) Geyer, of Springfield, Ohio, and Janet (Gary) White, of Westerville, Ohio; nephews, Bill (Sue) Todaro, of Washington, Richard Williams and Tom Ontko, of Dayton, Ohio; and numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Gene" Sani; her parents; two brothers, Secondo and Primo Williams; and her companion of several years, Victor;
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, until funeral services at 11 a.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Deacon Jeffrey Claar will preside. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Sandusky.
