David C. Netherland, 65, of Huron, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, in Parkview Health Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born Aug. 12, 1948, in Port Clinton and resided in Huron for the last 28 years. He graduated from Port Clinton High School. He worked for Delphi of Sandusky for 20 years retiring in 2006. He was a member of the UAW local 913, Sandusky.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served in the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed many hobbies including electronics, jewelry making, archery and graphic arts, to name some of them.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Vicky (Iceman) Netherland; three daughters, Carly Smith, of Vermilion, Toni (John) Macioce, of Perkins Township, and Kelly (Michael) Gillespie, of Sandusky; a stepdaughter, Heather Ennis, of Wooster, Ohio; two stepsons, Scott (Stephanie) Ennis, of Wooster, and Chad Ennis, of Creston, Ohio; 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda (Dennis) Rainear, of Richmond, Va.; and a brother, Jeff (Mary Jo) Netherland, of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Patricia (Laser) Netherland.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 21, until services at 5 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron. The Rev. Ken Hiser will officiate.
A graveside committal service with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 22, at Scott Cemetery, Huron Avery Road, Huron.
