Bert Elad Pollerman, 58, passed away suddenly Jan. 6, 2013, in his home in Delray Beach, Fla.
He was born Nov. 4, 1954, in Mitchell, S.D., the son of Dr. Tibor and Clara Pollerman. Bert spent his early years in Alexandria, S.D., and moved to Sandusky as a young boy. He attended Sts. Peter & Paul Grade School and Perkins High School, graduating in 1972. He studied engineering at University of Toledo, and moved to Delray Beach, Fla., where he worked manufacturing awnings, assisting a large-works sculpture artist, and restoring specialty autos.
He enjoyed restoring his 1962 Porsche, going to rock concerts and the Sebring auto races, and relaxing at the beach.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Andrew.
He was survived by six siblings, Tibor, Tom (who passed away 11/22/13), John, Clara Duff, Ákos/Pete, and Agi; as well as several nieces, great-nieces/nephews, cousins and an uncle.
A service remembering both Bert and his brother Tom will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at Oakland Cemetery Chapel, 2917 Milan Road, Sandusky, with Reverend Jim Castello officiating. The burial of ashes and a reception at the Pollerman family home will follow. Family and friends are invited to attend these gatherings.
