Herman M. Kwait, 85, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, Jan. 13, 2014, in Parkvue Healthcare Center.
Herman was born Jan. 26, 1928, in Pittsburgh, to Abe and Rose (Lockhart) Kwait.
He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and worked for Sears until his retirement in 1988. He was a resident of Sandusky for the past three years.
Herman is survived by his son, Howard (Marsha) Kwait of Canonsburg, Pa.; daughter, Andrea (Dr. Joseph) Scheingross of Sandusky; grandchildren, Jason Lockhart of Los Angeles, Jaime (Brad) Borders of North Canton, Ohio, Brittany Kwait of Chicago, and Derek Kwait of New York; great-grandson, Gavin Borders of North Canton, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Rubin) in 2010; and three brothers, Joshua, Joseph and Norman.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Interment will be in Pittsburgh.
