Mary Esther Will, 95, residing in Sandusky, passed peacefully away early Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, in Parkvue Health Care Center after a brief illness.
Mary was born Sept. 16, 1918, in Sandusky, daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Collings) Windau. Mary was a 1936 graduate of St. Mary High School and received her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree in 1970. She worked as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital for 10 years.
Mary was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, of Sandusky. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, reading, walking, going to church and spending time with her family and friends.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Carol Ann (Robert) Tacina, of Brunswick, Ohio, and Christine (John) Hermack, of Toms River, N.J.; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Olive (Gene) Ruehle, of Tiffin, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Louis Will, in 1969; son, Edward Louis Will, in 1998; her parents; three brothers, Norman, George and James Windau; and one sister, Winifred Lease.
Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where a prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
