Wandalea Shuman, 84, of Sandusky and formerly of Tiffin, died at 7:18 a.m., Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, in Lutheran Memorial Home in Sandusky.
Wandalea was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Fostoria, to Charles F. and Aileen E. (Mankin) DeWeese. She married Thomas A. Shuman in Covington, Ky., Nov. 26, 1949, and he preceded her in death Oct. 29, 1969.
Survivors include her children, Martha "Marty" Vassalle of Sandusky, Thomas J. Shuman of Tiffin, Susan L. Perry of Huron; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph F. DeWeese of Tiffin; and a sister, Frances Kay Reed of Nelsonville.
Wandalea worked as a nurse at Tiffin Mercy Hospital and the Tiffin Development Center. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the UAW in Dearborn, Mich., and the Sandusky American Legion and Eagles.
Wandalea was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson, Steven Thomas Perry; two brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation for family and friends will be 10 a.m.-noon Friday, Dec. 20, at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin. Graveside services will follow at noon, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donna Van Trees officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont cemetery.
