Betty Mae Todd Hoyt, age 87, of Gainesville, Ga., went home to see her Lord, and her husband on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, Betty lived her life in Columbus, Huron, Sanford, Fla., and Gainesville, Ga.
She was the daughter of the late Frank Edmund Todd and Helen Vashti Grant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Guy Louis Hoyt Jr.; grandson, David Harvey Jones; and her brothers, Theodore Grant Todd and Edmund Charles Todd.
Betty was a Domestic Goddess. She was an outstanding wife, homemaker, teacher and mother to her six children. She enjoyed church, gospel music, True TV, and seeing all of her children’s dreams come true.
Survivors include her beloved sister, Edna Louise Todd Corriveau Koehn (90) of Boca Raton, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Claudia Hoyt Jones (Richard) of Washington, Ga.; son, Theodore William Hoyt and love (Teresa Liening) of Winston, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Ruby Charlotte Hoyt Arnold (Bill) of Bexley, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Guy Louis Hoyt III (Peggi Sue) of Huron; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Francis Hoyt (Kathleen Layre) of Gainesville, Ga.; and son, Jeffrey Alan Hoyt of St. Cloud, Fla.; grandchildren, Richard Alan Jones (Alicia) of Snellville, Ga., twins, Mandy Hoyt of Apopka, Fla. and Jeni Hoyt of Altamonte Springs, Fla., Melissa Hoyt Sullivan (Jonathan) of Columbus, Sara Hoyt of Huron, Marcy Sue Hoyt Johnson (Clint) of Gainesville, Johnathan Jay Hoyt and love (Kristie Carlson) of Oakwood, Ga., Timothy James Hoyt and love (Shayna Carlisle) of Costa Mesa, Calif., Justin Daniel Hoyt of Columbus, Jessica Lynn Hoyt of St. Cloud, Kira Marie Weakley of Orlando, Fla., Grace Elizabeth Williams of Winter Park, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Isabelle Jones of Snellville, Ginger Leigh Rice of Huron, Avery Grace Johnson of Gainesville, and Hayden Tyler Mascarel of St. Cloud.
Betty will be cremated at Memorial Park Funeral Home and a Graveside Service will be scheduled in the future in Sanford, Fla., when she is laid to rest at the grave of her late husband.
