Donald R. Peace Sr., 79, residing in Huron, passed away early Monday morning, Dec. 16, 2013, surrounded by his family in Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.
Donald was born July 26, 1934, in Harlan County, Ky., son of the late Willard and Doris Peace.
Donald retired from the telecommunications department at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Okla.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and collecting just about anything. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and pet lover. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his children, Donald R. (LeeAnne) Peace Jr. and Shari Peace, both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Misti Yoakum, Jamie and Sean Bishop, BreeAnna Andrews and Zachary VanZandt; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Christel (Lemley)' daughter, Donna Pavia; and his parents.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, until a memorial services at 11 a.m. at Groff Funeral Homes Huron Chapel, 2602 E. Bogart Road, Huron. Pastor John Adams, of the New Life Church, will preside. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
