Helen Gayle (Horvatich) Priestas, 84, of Huron, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, in her daughter’s residence in Huron.
She was born April 19, 1929, in Lorain, and came to Huron two years ago from Lorain.
She is a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron, and St. Vincent DePaul Church in Lorain. She enjoyed gardening and landscaping as hobbies.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Dan) Jones of Huron, and Gayle Tomco of Rocky River, Ohio; two sons, William M. Priestas Jr. of Sandusky, and Robert A. (Sue) Priestas of Nova, Ohio; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five nieces; and four nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William M. Priestas Sr., in 2011; parents, Martin and Magdalene (Perek) Horvatich; sisters, Ann Dave, Mary Girelach, Goldie Horvatich, Helen Horvatich; brothers, August Horvatich, Carl Horvatich, Stephen Horvatich, Rudy and Albert Horvatich; and granddaughter, Helen Jones.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron, with Christian Wake Service at 8 p.m. Graveside committal service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
