Kevin R. "Red" Wilson, 45, Mansfield, Ohio, died Dec. 1, 2013.
Born on April 30, 1968, in Bucyrus, Ohio, he was the son of Ronald P. Wilson and Doris Ann Abell. He loved his church family very much, and was a member of Greenwich Baptist Church.
Kevin graduated Bucyrus High School in 1987, and was always a life-long supporter of their sports teams. He also followed the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Indians. Kevin was an avid Bigfoot follower. Spending time with his grandchildren was one of his favorite things. Kevin was instrumental in cancer research procedures at The James, which are currently being used to help new patients.
Surviving are wife, Donna, whom he married Oct. 14, 2006; step children, Timothy Perkins of Tiffin, Franklin Bigler of Ashland, Ohio, Richard Bigler, Angela Jones, and Michael Eberhardt, all of Mansfield; siblings, Brian D. Wilson of New London, PJ (Michelle) Peterson of Bellevue, John Peterson of Texas, Christine (Kenny) Peterson of Bellevue, Cynthia (Trent) Lantz, Andy (Laura) Wilson, and Rebekah Wilson, all of Bucyrus; father and step mother, Ronald (Deborah) Wilson of Bucyrus; step father, Peter Peterson of Bellevue; aunt, Connie Sutton of Vermilion; numerous grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Clark Clinard and Clifton Lewis.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Peterson; grandparents, William Abell and Mary Bunn, and Robert Jr. and Dorothy Wilson; aunts, Carolyn Spears and Blanche Kline; and special friend, Troy Wade.
Family and friends are invited to call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Gary Adkins, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
