Marion E. Michel, 88, of Sandusky, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 19, 2013, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born June 4, 1925, in Sandusky, and was a 1943 graduate of Sandusky High School. Marion earned her bachelor's degree and her master's degree from Bowling Green State University and her Education Specialist degree from Toledo University. Prior to her retirement, she was chair of the Early Childhood Education program at Owens Technical Institute.
She and her late husband, Richard, loved to collect and sell antiques. She received her final wish Tuesday, when she rejoined Richard, the love of her life.
She is survived by two sons, Richard (Diane) Michel of Bowling Green, Ohio, Joseph (Susan) Michel of Cincinnati; one daughter, Gail M. Johnson of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Pearl (Charles) Pascoe of Sandusky; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Michel in 2011; one daughter, Mary Ann Michel; her parents, Dewey and Mabel (Lahr) Hartwig; and one brother, David Hartwig.
At the request of the deceased, cremation has taken place. Private services will be held in Oakland Cemetery.
