Barbara Ann (Swicker) Lerch, 71, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.
Shein was born Dec. 25, 1941, in Norwalk, daughter of the late George and Pauline (Burdue) Swicker. She attended Milan and St. Paul High schools. She worked various jobs and married Herman Lerch on May 12, 1962, at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue, where she resided. She worked at General Electric Lamp in Bellevue and Westinghouse in Norwalk.
She was known for her walking and biking outdoors, on the trails and at the reservoir. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren, reading, bowling, music and her cross word puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Herman Lerch, of Norwalk; daughters, Christine (Chris) McHale, of Sandusky, and Michelle (Kurt) Limbacher, of High Point, N.C.; siblings, Patricia (Ralph) Biggs, of Erie, Pa., George (Eileen) Swicker, of McLean, Va., Annette Kerlin, of Great Falls, Va., and Janet (Michael) Poyer, of Milan; three grandchildren, Ashley, Stephen and Benny; aunt, Beverly Finnen, of Norwalk; and uncle, Clifford Springer, of Norwalk; numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law, Fred Kerlin.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m Thursday, Nov. 21, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 173 Benedict Ave., Norwalk. The Rev. David Conner and Chaplain David Detwiler will officiate. Private interment will be at Milan Cemetery.
