Thelma Ruth (Anderson) Marinello, 88, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, Nov. 16, 2013, in her home.
Born Nov. 20, 1924, in Sandusky, she was the daughter of Roy Samuel and Louise Marie (Lawrence) Anderson. Thelma was a 1942 graduate of Sandusky High School. She worked as a medical records technician for 22 years at Sandusky Memorial Hospital and later at Firelands Community Hospital from 1964 until her retirement on June 27, 1986.
Thelma enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and working on jig saw puzzles. In her earlier days, she had traveled extensively with her husband, Elio. She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Thelma is survived by her husband of 66 years, Elio J. Marinello, whom she married on June 27, 1947; three daughters, Barbara J. (Joe) Groscost and Victoria A. (David) Pletcher, both of Sandusky, Susan L. (William) Brutsche of Norwalk; five grandchildren, Benjamin (Kara) Pletcher, Kari (Doug) Vance, Christopher Mowry, Gregory (Leah) Brutsche, Jeffery (Amanda) Brutsche; seven great-grandchildren, Kailee, Emily and Alison Vance, Ronin and Cameron Pletcher, Cohen and Cecilia Brutsche; sister, Lois (James) Grahl of Sandusky; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Anderson.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, until the funeral service at 11 a.m., at David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. John Mawhirter officiating. Entombment will be in the Meadow Green Memorial Park Mausoleum, Huron.
