Gary L. Schuster

Gary L. Schuster, 63, of Huron, passed away peacefully early Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 6, 2013,  in his home, surrounded by his family whom he loved.

Born in Sandusky Sept. 15, 1950, he was the son of John Richard and Dorothy Jane (McElheny) Schuster. Gary was a1968 graduate of Sandusky High School.

Throughout the years he worked for Sandusky Machine & Tool, and later at New Departure Hyatt (Division of General Motors). In 1980 Gary went on to work at Industrial Nut Corp. as their corporate pilot and head of sales. Gary's love for flying began at the young age of 15 and he especially loved his time at the Griffing Airport throughout the years.

He loved spending time with his family and racing. Gary was a BMW high performance racing driving instructor. He also was a member of the Erie Co. Conservation League, and had his license to carry a concealed weapon. He was also a member of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Assoc., and the Experimental Aircraft Assoc.

Gary is survived by his wife, together for 43 years and married on March 15, 1980, Susan Kay (Napka) Schuster; sons, Matthew (Heather) Schuster of Dallas, Ryan Schuster of Christiansburg, Va.; his faithful companion, "Zeus"; and his brother, Craig R. (Theresa) Schuster of Lexington, Ky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Ann Schuster.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, until funeral services at 11 a.m., at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 334 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Paul F. Stengel will be officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
