Gerald L. Giordano, 77, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, in Briarfield of Milan Nursing Center.
He was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Batavia, N.Y., to Anthony I. and Aurora (Bowen) Giordano, and came to this area from Batavia.
Gerald was a member of the Norwalk First Baptist Church, and was the entertainment chairman of Eagles Aerie 711, Norwalk.
He was a diesel mechanic for Midway Trucking Company, Monroeville, retiring in 2001. At age 13, he joined the circus as a clown. Gerald enjoyed dancing, yard work, gambling, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary L. (Arnold) Giordano of Norwalk; by his children, Terry and Ron Firestone of Lakewood, Ohio, Maureen Gorber of Warsaw, N.Y., Sharon Fite of Batavia, N.Y., Kim Files and her partner, Katie Badamy of Sandusky, David Files of Columbus, Ohio, Sherri and Michael Oates of Norwalk; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gerald is also survived by his twin, Geraldine Anderson of Sandusky, and by his brother, Robert Kent of Batavia, N.Y.
Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Paul Lamb will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.
