Claretha (Lacey) Warren, 74, Sandusky, went home to live eternally with the Lord, Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, following a brief illness.
Claretha Warren was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Buckatunna, Miss., to Horace and Winnie (Poe) Lacey.
Over the years, Claretha worked at Cedar Point, Brown Derby, and Barr Rubber, in various positions, but the majority of her life was devoted to nurturing and raising children. Not just her own, but others she considered part of her extended family - children kept her young at heart.
She leaves to cherish her memories, sons, Prince A. (Sharon) Warren Jr. of Spencer, Okla., and Paul A. (Lynne) Warren of Sandusky; daughters, Annette W. Anderson of Elyria, Ohio, CaSandra Y. Warren, Pamela S. (Johnnie) Williams, Elsie Warren, and Marva Warren, all of Sandusky, Yvonne Jones of Cleveland, Ohio; honorary daughter/niece, Sharlene Warren of Columbus, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Versie Rae Gandy of Meridian, Miss.; brother, James Curtis (Charlene) Lacey of Buckatunna; adopted sisters and brothers, Eddie Mae Lacey, and Lula Mae Lacey, both of Waynesboro, Miss., John L. (Nancy) Lacey of Sandusky, Willie Mack “Buster” (Elizabeth) Lacey of Valdosta, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Claretha was preceded in death by her husband Prince A. Warren Sr. in 1991; parents; brothers, Horace E. “Sonny Boy” Lacey Jr., and John Lee Lacey; sisters; Dorothy V. Washam and Ginnie V. Hayes, one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from noon Friday, Nov. 1, until Homegoing Services at 1 p.m., at Agape Love Ministries, 4013 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Bishop Clifton T. Jones Sr., will officiate.
