Albert Hamilton Jr. age 65, of Nova, Ohio, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, after a two-year illness.
He was born Feb. 1, 1948, in Prestonburg, Ky., son of Albert and Spicey (Moore) Hamilton. He moved to the New London area when he was 13.
Albert was a graduate of Mapleton High School. He lived around Ohio most of his life. Albert served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1969-1970. He worked at Ohio Body Manufacturing, Sheller Globe, and retired from Chrysler as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the New London American Legion and the NRA. Albert loved spending time with his grandchildren, children and family. He enjoyed cars, working on cars, and car shows.
He is survived by his sons, Brad (Jen) Hamilton of Perrysburg, Ohio, Barry (Jordan) Hamilton of Holland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Delaney, Aleczander, Jacob, and Stella; his “mom”, Juanita Hamilton Akers of New London; his loving companion, Judy Parsons; his brothers, Ballard James Martin of Sandusky, Donny (Mary) Hamilton of Fitchville, Ron (Linda) Hamilton of New London, Tony Hamilton of Manhattan, Kan., Buddy Hamilton of Harold, Ky., Bo Hamilton of Manhattan; sisters, Pamela (James) Gardner of Ravenna, Ohio, Mary VonBehren of New London, and Libby (Rick) Ives of Clarksfield, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Christine (Harvey) Hamilton; his son, Keith Hamilton; and his sister, Daphne Hamilton.
Friends may call from noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, with Pastor Charles Mead officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
