Joel C. Nickoli, 51, of Norwalk, died Monday, June, 27, 2011, in his home.

He was born May 7, 1960, in Norwalk and was a lifelong area resident. Joel was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and was a 1979 graduate of Norwalk High School. He was a 27-year employee of Lake Erie Construction and was a member of Labor Union Local 480, Sandusky, and was also a member of St. Paul Athletic Boosters Club. Joel enjoyed riding motorcycles and 4 wheelers, cutting wood and gardening. He also enjoyed watching St. Paul High School football.

Joel is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary G. (Hackathorn) Nickoli of Norwalk; his sons, Clint J. and Clay P. Nickoli of Norwal; and his daughter and son-in-law, Sara B. and Mark Worley II of Norwalk. He is also survived by his mother, Wilma J. (Gilhousen) Nickoli of Norwalk; his sister, Ann E. Baker of Norwalk; his mother-in-law, Helen M. Hackathorn of Norwalk; and by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Joel was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence C. Nickoli, in 2009.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Frank Kehres will officiate. Burial will follow in Hester Cemetery, Bronson Township.
