Gary Lee Lewis, 57, of Clyde, passed away on Wednesday evening, Oct. 23, 2013, in his home under the care of Memorial Home Health and Hospice after a three-year battle with cancer.
He was born March 16, 1956, in Bellevue, son of the late Gertrude (Scalf) and Samuel Lewis. Gary grew up in Castalia and attended Margaretta Schools. He was employed by Whirlpool Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 2010.
Gary loved the outdoors. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, gardening, and canning his harvest. He was always the life of the party.
Gary is survived by his companion of 24 years, Kathy Livermore; two daughters, Sherri (Mike) Fox and Angel Lewis, both of Sandusky; two grandsons whom he adored dearly, Kaleb and Hayden Fox; three brothers, Marvin (Linda), of Bellevue, and Ernie (Patricia) and Robert (Martha), of Clyde; special friend, Chuck Howell; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenny and Jimmy; and nephews, Marvin “Butchy” and Kenny Jr.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, until funeral services at 11 a.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Harvey Studer will officiate.
