Marilyn A. (Kreiger) Grahl

Marilyn A. (Krieger) Grahl, 83, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, in Providence Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Marilyn was born Dec. 23, 1929, in Sandusky, daughter of the late Roy A. and Lorene E. (Arnold) Krieger.

Marilyn was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and attended St. Mary’s School. She was an honor roll student before having to quit school her last year when her father became disabled and unable to work. Marilyn was hired by Allstate Insurance, later becoming Hafner-Allsteter Insurance Agency, where she worked for several years before retiring. She then worked for Sandusky Diaper Service, and following that was employed as a bus aid on Singler bus for Betty Rinderle School. 

Marilyn married William H. Grahl on July 13, 1985, with the Rev. Robert Reinhart uniting them at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sandusky. 

Marilyn enjoyed doing puzzles, collecting recipes and trying out different recipes, camping trips to Frankenmuth, Mackinaw Island, Mich., and Amish Country and reading mystery books by Mary Higgins Clark. She was a loving wife and close to both her sisters and their children. Marilyn was helpful to her husband and was liked by anybody who met her. 

Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her two sisters, Rosemary Rapp and Jean Thompson; and by her cousins.

She is survived by her husband, William Grahl; nephews, Roy (Karen) Billman, Timothy Rapp, Robert (Lynda) Rapp and Paul (Jackie) Billman; niece, Theresa (Paul) Rodgers, and their children.

Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where a prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29. A mass of Christian burial will follow  at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Joseph Steinbauer will preside. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
