Anna Bessie (Cheek) Pooch, 95, Boca Raton, Fla., and formerly of Castalia, passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.
She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, Feb. 16, 1918. She was a retired bookkeeper from Castalia Elevator. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, before moving to Florida, where she was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Boca Raton.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Fox and Linda Bickley, both of Boca Raton and Vicki (Wendell) Barr of Milledgeville, Ga.; three grandsons, Matthew Fox, Daniel Fox and Joshua Bickley; two great-grandchildren, Leo and Olivia Fox; two brothers, Ronald (Dorothy) Cheek of Norwalk, and Joseph (Carolyn) Cheek of Sandusky; two sisters, Virginia (Raymond) Odenweller of Catawba Island, and Ruth Cheek of Sandusky; and many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen H. Pooch, to whom she was married for 58 years; her parents, Essie and Dora Cheek; six brothers, George, Carl, Howard, Earl, William, and Charles; two sisters, Lucille Krutil and Mary Catherine Cheek; and son-in-law, David Fox.
