Carole A. Elder, 76, of Sandusky, died Sunday evening, Oct. 20, 2013, in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 15, 1937, in Sandusky, and was a graduate of Lakeside High School. Carole was employed for 35 years at the former Topps Grocery Store, and was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Sandusky. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
She is survived by three daughters, Cindy (Richard) Wolf of Westford, Mass., Kim (Walt Kapiskosky) Bacni of Sandusky, and Shelly (Christopher) Kolba of Dublin, Ohio; six grandchildren, Nicole (Mike) Lavallee, Ryan (Stephanie) Wolf, Bradley (Stephanie) Bacni, Bryan (Samantha Roll) Bacni, Brianna (Brad Blyberg) Bacni, and Kendal Kolba; five great-grandsons, Blake Bacni, Brayden Lavallee, Frederick Bacni, Sylvester Bacni, and Emerson Wolf; two sisters, Donna (Jack) Mineo of Sandusky, and Mary Lou (Kenneth) Olson of Mansfield, Ohio; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Elder in 2005; and her parents, Charles and Gertrude (Williams) Vargosick.
At the request of the deceased, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Joseph Steinbauer will officiate.
