Max C. Krueger, age 83, of Berlin Heights, died Oct. 7, 2013, in Mill Manor Care Center, Vermilion.
He was born July 1, 1930, in Berlin Heights, and lived there his entire life. He was a 1948 graduate of Berlin Heights High School. He graduated from Bowling Green State University.
He was a lifelong farmer and also owned and operated Krueger Insurance in Berlin Heights for 50 years. He was a 60-year member of the Townsend Masonic Lodge, member of the Oxford Twp. Grange, Berlin Heights Kiwanis, serving as District Lt. Governor for two years, Berlin-Milan School Board, Erie County Farm Bureau Hilltop Council, and the Erie County Fair Board. Max was also a lifelong member of the Berlin Heights Congregational United Church of Christ. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, and spending his winters down in Florida.
He is survived by his children, Joanne Grech of Berlin Heights, Carl (Kimberly) Krueger of Berlin Heights, Mary (Mark) Crowell, of Kansas City, Mo., Janice Krisha of Berlin Heights; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Robinson); his second wife, Laurice (Leimbach); his parents, Clarence and Thelma (Alspach) Krueger; and his mother- and father-in-law, Glen and Marie Robinson.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South St., Berlin Heights. Masonic services will follow at 8 p.m. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Berlin Heights Congregational Church, Main Street, Berlin Heights. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
