Zack "Bud" Young, 85, of Sandusky, passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 29, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
Born Feb, 18, 1928, in Hazard, Ky., the son of Felix and Lizzie (Howard) Young, Bud moved to the Sandusky area in 1953. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bud had retired from Asplundh Tree Expert Company, of Toledo, where he worked for many years.
In his early days he enjoyed playing pool and was a member of the Erie Pool League. He was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and the American Legion Post 83, where he had been a member of the Color Guard.
Bud is survived by two sons, Jeff and Dan Young; a daughter, Eva (Robert Jr.) Ries; six grandchildren, Eva, Robert, Tabatha, Royce, Jacob, Mikey; a great-grandson, James; he is also survived by Linda (Robb) Parthemore, Nathan and Macie; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Roy and Robert Young; companion, Gloria Filsinger; and other family members in Kentucky.
No visitation will be held and cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Chapel at Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Road, Huron. Bishop Donald G. Perdue officiating. Interment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 83 Color Guard.
