Judy L. Parkhurst, 65, of Vickery, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at her home.
Mrs. Parkhurst was born Sept. 20, 1945, in Coeburn, Va., daughter of the late William Logan and Julia (Reed) Stallard. She graduated from Townsend High School in 1963 and was a member of Vickery United Methodist Church; the Bellevue/Clyde Chapter of the Red Hats; and had been on some bowling leagues. She was a volunteer at Care and Share in Fremont.
Judy loved to read, crochet and take care of her garden, but she had real enjoyment in the bus trips she took with her friends.
On July 24, 1965, she married Paul "Dick" Parkhurst, and he preceded her in death on July 22, 1999.
Survivors include their three children, Scott (Jodi) Parkhurst of Castalia, Paula (Randy) Drennen of Bellevue and Nicole Parkhurst, of Vickery; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Lyle (Marianne) Stallard of Clyde.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Wendy Parkhurst; and siblings, Doris Moore, Violet Bevins, Gray Morgan, Arthur Stallard and Jerry Stallard.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, where funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 6. Pastor Doug Gildenmeister will officiate. Burial will be in Parkhurst Cemetery.
