Ronald Russel Stookey, 63, of Sandusky, passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 29, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Ronald was born Sept. 15, 1950, in Sandusky, to Victor Russel and Myrtle Mary (Queen) Stookey.
Ron was a 1969 graduate of Perkins High School. He proudly served his country during Vietnam as a Military Policeman in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and the Sandusky VFW. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, and spending time with his family and friends.
Ronald is survived by his five daughters, Alisha (Justin) Snider, Leta (John) Hotz, Shannon Lynch, Dawn Riesterer, and Tracie McKillips, all of Sandusky; 13 grandchildren, Krista, Calin, Jessica, Alyssa, Kierstan, Kaylee, Aaron, Jameson, Antwone, James, Ariana, Jaylen, and Jordyn; his brother, Thomas (Wendy) Stookey; one nieces, Nicole; and other family members.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Ann (Brogle) Stookey, in 2012.
There will be no visitation. Committal services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, at Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Road, Huron. Father Michael Roemmele will be officiating.
Groff Funeral Home and Crematory, Sandusky, is assisting the family with arrangements.
