William Charles Miller, 73, of Sandusky, passed away early Friday morning, Sept. 27, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
He was born, Aug. 2, 1940, in Sandusky, son of the late Charles and Harriet (Zellner) Miller.
Bill was a 1958 graduate of Sandusky High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, from 1958-61, where he was part of the Seabee Construction Battalion. Bill was a member of the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union Local 42, and was employed as a welder at Ford Motor Plant for 29 years, retiring Jan. 1, 2004.
Bill was a life time member of AMVETS, and a member of Salem United Methodist Church and the Sandusky Athletic Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, and spending time with his family and cat, Smoke.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Loreen (James) Miller, whom he married Nov. 27, 1965; his two sons, Timothy (Sandy) of Mott, of North Dakota, and Christopher Miller, of Sandusky; and three grandchildren, Dalton, Christopher and Laura Miller.
At the family’s request, there will be no services conducted. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, is assisting the family with arrangements.
