Mary Minnie Osburn, 97, of Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday morning, Sept. 25, 2013, in Providence Care Center following a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Brighton, Ohio, daughter of the late Clark and Grace (Butson) Ewell. Mary was a graduate of Brighton High School, and enjoyed attending class reunions. She was the operator of White’s Landing, Cove Inn Restaurant and Bar from 1970-80.
She was a member of Woman’s Pool League, and White’s Landing Woman’s Auxiliary for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, completing crossword puzzles, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Terry Osburn, of Vickery; her daughter, Janice Schneiter, of Nova, Ohio; four grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norris Osburn, in 1985; her parents; and two siblings, Ray Ewell, and Jean Herman.
At the family’s request no services will take place. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
