Edward L. Sickinger, 78, Norwalk, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, in Fisher Titus Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 15, 1935, in Norwalk, to Leonard and Lucille F. (Grosswiler) Sickinger, and was a lifelong area resident. Eddie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He retired from the Huron Lime Company in 2000 with over 30 years of service. Eddie was a former employee of Sheller-Globe (Mayflower) Company of Norwalk, Janesville, Inc. of Norwalk, and Price Construction Company of Norwalk. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, bowling, and especially enjoyed shooting pool.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith A. “Judy” (Meggitt) Sickinger of Norwalk; his twin sister, Evelyn (Paul) Ott of North Fairfield, Ohio; sisters, Shirley (Donnie) Nickoli of Norwalk, Lucille C. “Sis” Sickinger of Norwalk, and Pam (Ed) Hoon of Huron; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, to all of whom he was like a father.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard C. “Sonny” Sickinger in 2003.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at the funeral home. Rev. Anthony Recker, Pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, will officiate.
