Donald J. Didion, 75, of Sandusky, passed away late Sunday morning, Sept. 22, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical, after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 15, 1937, in Sandusky, the son of Cletus Martin and Martha Amelia (Nemitz) Didion. Don attended St. Mary Central Catholic High School.
He worked as an electrician at the Sandusky Foundry and Machine for many years before retiring. Don loved gardening and enjoyed woodworking. He looked forward to spending time with his family and grandchildren and attending their many activities.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Heritage Society, and in years past, the Oxford Grange. Don was also a social member of the American Legion Post 83, and enjoyed going down to the Senior Center.
Don is survived by his a daughter, Kelly Fantozz; son, Ken (Tammy) Didion, both of Sandusky; seven grandchildren, Erin, Sean, Spencer, Kaitie, Emily, Samantha and Carter; two brothers, John "Jack" (Marilyn) Didion, and Thomas Didion; a sister, Teresa (Tom) Sloma, all of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jo Ann (Kelley) Didion, on Feb. 15, 2005; and a sister in infancy, Judith Ann Didion.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
