Evalyn L.(Knox) Elliott, 93, of Vermilion, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, in Bellevue Care Center, after a short illness.
Evalyn was born June 28, 1920, in Sidney, Ohio, and had been a Vermilion resident since 1966 moving from Sandusky. She had numerous occupations, including working as an assembler for Standard Products and as a clerk at Kroger Co.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Vermilion, and enjoyed her pets, playing the organ, and art, especially oil painting.
Evalyn is survived by her cat, Tommy; daughter, Sandra (George) Keller, of Bellevue; two grandchildren, Matt (Diane) Keller and Tiffany (Walt) McMahon; two step-grandsons, Jonathon and Seth Lanning Keller; five great-grandchild, Jeremy, Victoria, Dane, Alana and Trevor; and brother, Richard Know, of Toledo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorman Elliott, in 2006; son, Dorman R. Elliott; parents, Robert and Ruth (Runyan) Knox; and a half-brother, Lowell Gattes.
The family will receive friends 2-5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermilion, where funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24. Pastor David Hull-Frye will officiate. Interment will follow at Meadow Green Cemetery, Huron.
The family suggests memorial contributions be maid to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior St., Sandusky, OH 44870.
