Frances M. Malone, age 88, of Berlin Heights, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
She was born Oct. 20, 1924, in Ceylon, to Vernon and Doris (Daniels) Summers. She lived her entire life in the Berlin Heights area. She was a 1943 graduate of Berlin Heights High School. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Berlin Heights and the Berlin Township Conservation Club. She spent a lifetime working and caring for the family orchard and farm.
Frances is survived by her husband of 66 years, Otis; her son, Richard (Bonnie) Malone, daughter, Kathy (Steve) Deehr, and daughter-in-law, Pauline Malone, all of Berlin Heights; her grandchildren, Rob, Mark, Toni, and Paul Malone, Sara, and Sam Deehr; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Lander of Elyria, Betty Franklin of Vermilion, Carrie Clouser of South Amherst, and Mary Fritz of Berlin Heights; brothers, Albert Summers of Sandusky, and John Summers of Wakeman; sister-in-law, Sally Summers; brother-in-law, Charles Malone; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Malone; sisters, Virginia and Marilyn Summers; and brothers, Charles, Ralph, and James Summers.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 5 Main St., Berlin Heights. Pastor Casey Cain, will be officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery.
