Robert L. Colvin, 79, of Vickery, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 in Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born in Norwalk, March 1, 1931 to Leon and Marian (Remlinger) Colvin.
He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1948 and had been a carpenter all his life, working for Leo Kaufman Construction, Cliff McVetta Construction, John Folk Construction and then retired from E&K Construction, with Tony Kathrien.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and a former Townsend Township Volunteer Fire Dept. member. Bob enjoyed many activities including spending time with his family, traveling, hunting, fishing, baseball, dartball, bowling and hiking.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married Oct. 28, 1950, Geraldine Regina "Dolly" Mapus. Also surviving are children, Jerry L. (Sally) Colvin of Vickery, Kaye A. (Stephen) Dimoff of Woodville, Ohio and Kathy S. (Doug Bogart) Vara of Crystal River, Fla.; one brother, John "Jack" Colvin of Sandusky; and seven grandchildren, Amy D. (Adam Buchanan) Colvin of Vickery, Krista K. (Steve) Rice of Springboro, Ohio, Todd R. (Samantha) Colvin of Helena,  Ohio, Julie L. Colvin of Chauncey, Ohio, Gina M. Vara of Sandusky, Bethany L. Vara of Orlando , Fla. and Caitlin J. Bogart of Crystal River, Fla.; one great grandchild, Brandon P. Buchanan of Vickery and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Michael S. Dimoff; and great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn D. Nicholas.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Vickery.
Burial will be in Venice Cemetery.
