Edna (Hacket) Edmondson, 89, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, in Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
Edna was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Fitchville, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 70 years.
In earlier years Edna had worked for Basic Food Materials as a lab technician, retiring in 2002. She was a member of Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church, where she had been active with the church choir.
She is survived by her daughters, Estrella Root of Santa Fe, N.M., and Nancy (Bill) Hlavin of Lakeville, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chis Tung) Hlavin, Marie Hlavin, Erica Martin, and Kishi Bear; great-grandchildren, Samuel Hlavin, Emma Weekley, and Lucas and Isaac Tung.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in Dec. 29, 2012; and parents, George and Emma (Goldsmith) Hackett.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St. Vermilion. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the funeral home, Rev. Nick Cacciatore will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
