Thomas J. Ewart, age 88, of Huron, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born June 24, 1925, in Kearny, N.J., and moved to Huron from there in 1968. He was a 34 year employee of New Departure Hyatt, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, in Huron, a member and past president of the Senior Fellowship Group in Sandusky, and was a member of the Senior Golf League at Thunderbird Hills.
Tom is survived by his wife, Karen Ewart; one daughter, Ellen Jane Ewart of Powell, Ohio; one son, Thomas (Mary) Ewart Jr. of Huron; grandchildren, Abigail (Kevin) Lang of Ferndale, Mich., and Michael (Kelly) Ewart of Sylvania, Ohio; sister, Joan Scorola of Toms River, N.J.; and brother, Joseph Ewart of Parsippany, N.J.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, June; parents; brother, John Ewart; and sister, Florence.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Foster Funeral Home and Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the funeral home. The Rev. Jeffery Sikorski will officiate. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery.
