Aldon Wright, age 78, of Norwalk, died Friday evening, Sept. 6, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 25, 1934, in Collins, to Clarence and Flora (Neuwerth) Wright. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked over 52 years as a welder at Brook Brothers Forging in Norwalk.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He repaired cars and lawn mowers, was an avid recycler, and loved his dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary B. (Wunder) Wright of Norwalk; children, Patricia (Robert) Crase of Willard, Brenda (Stan) Macky of Norwalk, Mary Jane Slone of Norwalk, Ronald Eugene (Cathy) Wright of Cleveland, and Jimmy Wright of Norwalk; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Harold Wright of Sandusky, Clayton Wright of Florida, Robert Wright of Sandusky, Rosemarie Elliott of South Carolina, Sarah Didion of Norwalk; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Clayton Wright; a great-granddaughter; and siblings, Chester John Wright, Shirley Wright, and Clarence Wright Jr.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. Private interment will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery.
