Charles Sanders, 63, of Bay View, passed away late Friday evening, Sept. 6, 2013, in Firelands Regional medical Center, following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 24, 1950, in Sandusky, to Charles and Irene (Leidorf) Sanders.
Charles loved the outdoors - he enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, listening to country music, and drinking Old Milwaukee. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State football fan. He enjoyed spending time with family, and the company of others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Rose (Bango) Sanders; four children, Kim (Joe) Butts of Bellevue, Kelly Gibbs of Sandusky, Kristi (Bob) Rzasa of Markle, Ind., and Chuck (Pattie) Sanders Jr. of Monroeville; 12 grandchildren, Joey, Brittany, Corey, Charlie, Danny, Brooke, Chad, Trey, Jordan, Carly, Zach, and Jaysen; six great-grandchildren, Ja-Zaiviaire, Jaiden, Cali, Michael, Ryker, and Mariyah; four siblings, Sherry (Dave) Clark, Rosey Brewer, June (Dan) Leber, and Raymond Sanders; many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Sanders; and his sister, Jess in infancy.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
