Betty C. Ott Goss, 90, of Sandusky died Monday evening, May 17, 2010, in Portland House, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
She was born March 21, 1920, in Venice, Ohio. Betty was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky, where she served as the Sunday school superintendent and worked in the church kitchen for many years. She was also a member of the Dock Friends, enjoyed playing pinochle, spending time with her family, and traveling.
She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Kammer of Sandusky; two sons, Tom (Sheila) Ott of Berlin Heights and Doug (Linda) Ott of Sandusky; stepdaughter, Barbara (Roger) Newton of Sandusky; stepson, Danny Goss of Sandusky; eight grandchildren, Eric (Kathie) Kammer, Jason (Gretchen) Ott, Joshua (Korin) Ott, Justin Ott, Chris (Tara) Newton, Elissa Gaydish, Sherry Ott and Elizabeth Newton; six great-grandchildren; stepbrother, Victor Girard of Sandusky; sister-in-law, Kathryn Roesch of Sandusky; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, August N. Ott; second husband, Harry G. Goss; grandson, Thomas William Ott; mother, Claire Grahl Roesch; father, Sylvan Roesch; stepmother, Ivy Roesch Brauel; sister, Joyce Schmid; brother, Loyal Roesch; and son-in-law, Richard J. Kammer Jr.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday until the funeral service at noon in Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. John B. Mawhirter will officiate. Committal services for the family will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, or to the donor's favorite charity.
