Elsie Kucha, 78, of Sandusky died Friday, March 5, 2010, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 23, 1931, in Port Clinton. She was employed by Philco for 13 years, she owned and operated Elsie’s Carry-Out, and worked for George Canalos — J.F. Walker for 25 years, retiring in 1997.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sandusky, Philco Ten Plus, American Legion Post 83 of Sandusky and she was a volunteer for the Erie County Senior Center.
Elsie is survived by her granddaughter, Andrea Kucha of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; sisters, Penny Milliser of Port Clinton, Ada Chichester of Avon Lake and Roberta Dickman of Las Vegas; brother, Dean Pixley of Sandusky; former daughter-in-law, Mary Ostheimer Kucha of Fremont; beloved pet, Sissie Sue; special friends, Charles and Kathy Failor, Carlos and Darlene Bledsoe, Rose Williams and Mary Armstrong.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kucha, in 1958; beloved son, Allan Kucha, Dec. 28, 2009; parents, Dean and Gladys (Bechtold) Pixley; and sisters, Nancy Arnold, Dorothy Pyles, Dolores Groll and Geraldine Imke.
Friends may call from noon Monday until services at 1 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky; the Rev. Ted Stellhorn will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
