Joyce Marie Lachowyn, 74, formerly of Norwalk, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, in Huron.
She was born Sept. 25, 1936, in Lorain, and lived in Norwalk and Avon most of her life. She enjoyed tennis and golf, was an avid shopper and animal lover, especially her beloved dog, Roxy. The thing she loved the most was spending time with family and friends over a nice meal at her favorite restaurant. She was a very loving, caring and generous person with a wonderful sense of humor. Her family and friends will miss her immensely.
Joyce is survived by her two sons, Daniel (Julie) Lachowyn of Huron and Michael Lachowyn of Columbus; daughter, Elise (Drew Robertson) Lachowyn of Toronto, Ontario; five grandchildren, Cristina, Max, Sara, Nicholas and Skyler; and brothers, Glen Tiler of Lorain and Robert Schnitzler of Mission Viejo, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Lachowyn; parents, Melvin and Mildred Schnitzler; and brother, James Schnitzler.
Friends may call from noon Monday until service at 2 p.m. in Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Eric Mueller, associate pastor at St. Paul Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the David Lachowyn Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Norwalk High School.
