Richard E. Brandt, 94, of Attica, died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2013, at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
He was born March 12, 1919, in Attica, to John and Della Rose (Gosche) Brandt. He was a veteran of U.S. Army during World War II, and farmed in the Attica area.
Richard was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Attica Eagles, and the American Legion Post 260. He enjoyed carpentry work and loved his trips to Hawaii after retiring from farming.
He is survived by 11 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Marion Brandt; and two sisters, Irene Beamer, and Ruth Holmer.
Friends may call 2-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin St., Attica, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Our Lady of Hope Church, with Fr. Paul A. Fahrbach officiating. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, with military services being provided by the American Legion.
