James E. Ganzmann, 84, of Huron, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, in Admiral's Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Huron.
He was born March 21, 1926, in Toledo, and came to Huron 13 years ago from Downer's Grove, Ill. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1948. He worked for Union Oil Company-Chicago Refinery for 40 years, including working in Heath, Ohio. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during WWII.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron; a Fourth Degree member of St. Edward's Council, Knights of Columbus, Huron; the American Legion, Sandusky; the Huron Eagles; and the Port Clinton Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Ganzmann of Huron, and a son, Ed Ganzmann of Cincinnati.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Zubrick) Ganzmann, 1999; and parents, Alvin and Lillian (Collins) Ganzmann.
Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron. The Rev. Jeffery Sikorski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Oregon, Ohio.
