Donald Kowalewski, age 78, of Bellevue, passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Bellevue Care Center.
He was born Jan. 18, 1935, in Toledo, the son of Thaddeus and Clara (Michalak) Kowalewski.
Donald retired in 1991 after working at the Toledo General Motors factory for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He married Lelah (Holcomb) Kowalewski Sept. 27, 1975, in Port Clinton, she preceded him in death in 2006.
Survivors include his daughters, Sharon (Mark) Horvath of Bellevue, Linda (Jere) Walters of Bellevue; step-daughters, Wilma Semon of Bellevue, Mary Carlson of Fremont; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Dolly Neff of Port Clinton; niece, Rhonda Shortridge; and nephew, Robbie Floriana.
In addition to his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Wanax, and Geraldine Sturdevant; brother, David Kowalewski; step-daughters, Glenda Musser, Barbara Carol Symington; and his granddaughter, Victoria Adams.
Friends will be received 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at York Chapel Cemetery.
