Donn K. Eddy, 67, of Milan, died Friday evening, Aug. 23, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born Aug. 20, 1946, In Norwalk, son of the late Stanley and Alberta (Weilnau) Eddy and was a lifelong area resident. Donn was a 1964 graduate of Milan High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Alaska. He was a member of the Milan Fire Department for 35 years and was an EMT for North Central EMS. Donn was a former employee of Certain Teed Corp., Erie Black Top, and retired from Maple City Ice in 2012.
He was a member and officer for many years of Milan American Legion Post 052, and was a former member of the Milan and Norwalk Chambers of Commerce. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He also enjoyed playing golf, dartball, reading the newspaper, and yard work.
Donn is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joan P. (LaRonde) Eddy, of Milan; his children, Keith D. Eddy, of Norwalk, and Pamela J. Eddy, of Cambridge, Mass.; his sister and brother in law, Shirley and George Waldock of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at St. John United Church of Christ, 2712 W. Mason Road, Sandusky. The Rev. Wendy Schindler-Chasney will officiate. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
