Timothy L. "Tim" Ahner, 54, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, Aug.16, 2010, at his home on Kelleys Island.
He was born Feb. 1, 1956, in Sandusky, a son of Daniel David and Dona J. (Harpst) Ahner. Tim was a 1974 graduate of Sandusky High School and a 1978 graduate of Purdue University where he received his degree in Mechanical Engineering. Tim was president of Ahner Fabricating and Sheet Metal in Sandusky.
He enjoyed sitting on his front porch at his home on Kelleys Island, listening to talk radio shows, watching the Cleveland Indians on TV with the sound off and the radio on and spending time with his family.
Tim is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rosalyn L. "Roz" (Smith) Ahner, whom he married March 3, 1987; three sons, Dan R. (Megan) Ahner, Michael L. Ahner and David J. Ahner and a daughter, Janie K. Ahner, all of Sandusky; granddaughter, Aryanna C. Ahner; father, Daniel D. Ahner of Kelleys Island; two sisters, Patricia Ahner of Kelleys Island and Karen Ahner of Richmond, Va.; brother, Mark (Deb) Ahner of Sandusky; and four nephews, Vaughn, Tristen, Max and Lee.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dona J. (Harpst) Ahner (1984).
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where a funeral service will be at 8:0 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Jerald A. Fenske of St. Stephen United Church of Christ will officiate. Private burial services will be Friday morning at Kelleys Island Cemetery.
